Road Travel - How Can You Make It Easier & More Enjoyable?

1. Keep a family cooler for drinks and cold snacks. Easy to stop by the gas station for ice on the way out of town.  It is always beneficial to have a drink cooler for water, soda or seltzers when on the road.

2. Put a blanket down on the back seat. Kids in backseats are notoriously messy. Save yourself cleaning trouble in the long run.

3. Always have a First-aid kit tucked away somewhere in your vehicle. You never know when you may need a bandaid, some tweezers, or a bandage wrap.

4. Invest in a Sloodie for each of your kids in the backseat. This way they keep to themselves more and will hopefully increase comfort and decrease the fidget level. With their arms tucked-in to the Sloodie ... no guarantees ... but they may be less inclined to mess with their siblings. Again not guarantees hahaha

5. Have more than one Road Trip Playlist. We all likely have a road trip playlist, but guess what, after 3 times through we are all tired of that playlist. Have a couple backup playlists primed and ready to go ;)

6. Have several longer Podcasts or Audiobooks primed and ready to go. Podcasts and Audiobooks can really help time go by quickly on long road trips.

7. Play road games with your kids. Put together a scavenger list before the trip with items that they need to check off as they see them from the car window. Examples...  - A motorcycle with two people on it  - A hawk or bald eagle  - A sign for a lake  - A black convertible

Some of these tips you may already implement as a family and that is great! If some of these tips are new to you, it may be worth checking them out on your road trip this year.
